About Us
Karns Fire Department is a nonprofit organization. Since 1978, the department has provided fire and emergency services to the Ball Camp, Solway, Hardin Valley and Karns communities, and is led by the Fire Chief who is governed by a Board of Directors. The trained and certified staff are available 24/7, responding to over 3,000 emergency incidents per year.
Karns Fire Department is designated as the fire department which Knox County expects to service portions of North West Knox County, including the communities of Ball Camp, Solway, Hardin Valley and Karns.
The elected Board of Directors are responsible for the oversight of fiscal and legal responsibilities of the fire department.

Karns Fire Department is funded through the subscription program. Invoices for the subscription program are sent out in January each year.
